Wood racks come both finished and unfinished giving you options when selecting a wine rack design for your space. The unfinished racks give you the option of staining or painting the rack to fit perfectly with your color scheme. Others will prefer one that has already been stained and sealed and are ready to install.

Things to keep in mind when selecting your rack are the capacity you require, size of the space you plan place the rack in, and whether you will plan on extending the rackspace as time goes on.

This rack comes in both a natural and a finished option. Its just the right size for storing 36 bottles of wine and has a top shelf for for storing other items.

This unit is a basic stackable rack that you can leave the natural finish or stain/paint to your specific requirements.

This wine rack doesn’t require any tools to assemble and the would comes pre-slotted for fool proof setup. While not required, you may find that using a rubber mallet to tap into place will make the job go smoother. It should also be noted if you buy more that one and plan on stacking them, you may want to get fasteners to hold the wall of racks in place securely.

These racks will hold 96 bottles and you will have the luxury of adding additional shelves as your collection grows. This rack system is one of the most economical of the the wine racks we’ve highlighted.

These racks work great if you have a wall with 4 feet width and 3 feet height to store your wine against.

This unit is another basic stackable rack that comes in a natural finish. You can optionally paint it if you are looking for a specific color.

What we liked about this rack is that it in smaller stackable units. This gives you an option of being able to put your wine in small spaces around your home. This is especially useful in homes where you have limited space.

The cut-aways are sized for most wines, larger bottles of wine (Champagne and Pinot for example) may not fit as well or need to be on the top shelf. Each rack holds for bottles and you can order 1 tier (4 bottles) up to 6 tiers (24 bottles)

The flexibility of this wine rack is what drew our attention.

The kit comes with octagonal pieces and dowels. The length of the octagonal pieces are 11 inches long and they are approx 1 3/8 Inches in diameter. Each of the octagonal sections have 4 holes drilled on both ends approximately 1 inch from the end. The dowels are about 3 1/2 inches long. The 3/8 inch holes for the dowels are a little snug, so it is best to use a rubber mallet to set the dowels.

You can buy sets in one of 4 sizes: 12, 24, 40, or 72 bottle kits.

This is a sturdy unit that is made out of solid pine. This kit also comes with dowels to give the rack a little more stability.

Tools needed for this rack are a rubber mallet and some wood glue. If you think you may need to move the racks, you may want to not use the glue so that you’ll be able to take the rack apart to assemble in another location. One other optional hardware is “L” brackets to help stablize the second 6×12 rack on top.

The capacity on this wine rack is 144 bottles. It can only accommodate Champagne bottles on the top shelf.

This is the perfect rack for a closet or a basement cellar.

This is a great looking wine rack and was our runner up on the list as our favorite.

This espresso stained wine rack has a simple and elegant design. This wine rack is part of Winsome’s Vinny Series. In addition to holding 24 bottles of wine it can hold up to 24 wine glasses depending on the diameter of the glasses.

The unit does require assembly and will require a hex screw driver to screw in the hex screws. Some of the units reviewed did require a little extra work in tightening the screws because the hole was drilled to small, but other than that assembly is pretty straight forward.

The wine racks espresso color looks elegant and can be displayed in a living room or a dinning room. We love the look of this unit and its dual purpose of wine rack/wine glass storage.

6-tier bamboo wood wine rack can store 36 bottles of wine. The bamboo finish gives the rack light and tropical look and perfect for informal settings.

Minimal Assembly is required, and no tools are required. The design is sturdy and solid. The stackable design allows for flexible implementation. Stack the six shelfs or setup each shelf individually to meet your specific needs.

Sorbus’ bamboo wine rack is a great choice for rooms where you are looking to accent your dinning space with a clean natural wood rack to display your wines.

This wine rack is similar to the Homecho Bamboo Wine wrack except the it is a few inches taller, stores an additional 8 bottles of wine, and has a top shelf surface giving the unit a more formal look.

Assembly is also required for this rack, but just like the the Homecho model, instructions and the tools required to perform the assembly. Screws are used to hold the connections in place making for a sturdy build.

The Homfa wine rack is well made, has a beautiful dark brown finish and with the top on the rack it makes for an elegant setup in a dinning room.

The design of the cube is a square with an “X” pattern in the middle that creates for 4 compartments that each can hold 6 bottles of wine for a total of 24 bottles.

Assembly is required and the instructions tools required to perform the assembly. The cube is a simple and sturdy design that allow for stacking providing an easy option for expanding your shelf space.
